Marine Technical Service is your independent marine surveyor for boats and yachts. We inspect thoroughly and tell you honestly what condition your boat is in.
Based on the island of Rügen, we work throughout Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and all along the Baltic coast. We carry out pre-purchase surveys, valuations, damage surveys and insurance surveys, and on request anywhere in Germany.

About us
Experience from decades at sea
Who we are
We first met about 20 years ago at the Shanghai Yacht Club. Both of us have worked in the maritime industry and in shipping for decades, all over the world. A shared passion for offshore sailing grew into a close friendship. We have sailed many international regattas, gone on private cruises together and built our own sailing boats.
To this day we stay in touch with sailors from all over the world and have been active in international associations for many years. These include the American Sailing Association, the US-China Sailing Association, The Nautical Institute and the German federal association of freelance and independent motor vehicle experts (BVSK).
Andreas
Andreas Wagner is a marine engineer with 50 years of experience with sailing boats and yachts. He is an associate member of The Nautical Institute, an honorary member of the Marine and Technical Superintendents Association of the Philippines (Superintendent Level 5) and a member of the International Institute of Marine Surveying. In 1991 he was awarded the title of European Engineer (EUR ING).

Surveys and advice for your boat
Whether you are buying a boat, dealing with damage or arranging insurance, an independent survey gives you certainty. As marine surveyors for boats and yachts, we thoroughly inspect the hull, machinery and equipment and record everything in clear language. So you know exactly where you stand.
Expert opinions
In the event of damage or a dispute, solid facts matter. Our expert opinion records the condition of your boat neutrally and transparently.
Osmosis detection
Osmosis often goes unnoticed for a long time. With suitable moisture meters and plenty of experience, we locate affected areas of the hull and assess how serious the findings are.
Engine inspection
We inspect the engine, clutch, gearbox, propeller shaft and propeller, and tell you what is in good order and where action is needed.
Cost estimates
Before a repair you want to know what to expect. We give you a realistic cost estimate based on current labour rates and boatyard prices.
